Mission

The mission of MOMS Orange County is to help mothers and their families have healthy babies by providing health coordination, education and access to community services.

Our History

Founded in 1992 as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, MOMS Orange County grew out of a public-private partnership created to help solve a severe prenatal care crisis in Orange County.  In the summer of 1989, our founder, Dottie Andrews, was instrumental in establishing town forums to address the lack of prenatal care for low-income women in Orange County.  From the town forums to a task force convened by the Orange County Board of Supervisors, Dottie and a group of committed volunteers established MOMS Orange County to increase access to prenatal care for low-income women in Orange County.

MOMS Orange County provides access to prenatal care, health screenings, health education, and referral services to more than 3,500 low income pregnant women annually in underserved communities in Orange County. Our services are offered at no cost to those who qualify.

MOMS Orange County has been recognized by the Heath Care Agency of Orange County, the Children & Families Commission of Orange County, the California Department of Health Services, and the United States Congress for its innovative work in the community and impact on the health of women and babies in Orange County.
