Hi everyone!

My name is Taylor Davis, and I am an AmeriCorps VISTA member serving with MOMS Orange County for one year. I received my undergraduate degree in History in 2010 from UC San Diego, and my master’s degree in Political Science in 2012 from CSU Fullerton. Many people ask me why I decided to choose MOMS Orange County as my organization to serve with, and I find that the answer is pretty simple. I consider my childhood to be extremely privileged because of the mentor of my life — my mom. Although my dad has always been there for me as well, it was truly my mom who made sure I did my homework (or at least tried!), went to bed on time, and, most importantly, instilled in me a tremendous passion for education and a fundamental curiosity about the world. I know if it weren’t for her, I would not be the person I am today.

Serving with MOMS Orange County is my opportunity to pay forward all of the amazing support I have received from my family, especially my mom, over the years. During my service term, I will be helping to build the capacity of MOMS Orange County through fundraising, events planning, marketing activities, and social media outreach. If even one family is helped because of my efforts who would not have been helped otherwise, I will consider my time at MOMS Orange County a resounding success. I look forward to meeting many of you in the coming weeks and months.

In Service,

Taylor1
