Holiday Adopt-a-Family

The holiday season can be a challenging and stressful time for our families who struggle to provide basic needs for their children. You can bring holiday cheer and much-needed tangible support to families by participating in our annual Adopt-a-Family campaign.

How it works:  MOMS Maternal Child Health Workers and Health Educators identify families who could especially benefit from some support during the holidays. Each is a family enrolled in MOMS home visitation or health education programs. The families who are identified have a new baby or are expecting a baby.

  • Stories of the families are shared along with a list of family members and the stores they frequent in their Wish List.  Stories will begin to populate on the adoption site in mid-October. Donors identify a family they wish to adopt and shop for gift cards for the family.

  • Donors drop off the gift cards in November, and no later than December 1. Gift cards should be marked with the value on them in unsealed envelopes or in a holiday bag. We will wrap any unwrapped envelopes or cards in a red gift bag.

  • We distribute gifts and do our best to capture photos of the family with your special gift. We also ask the parent to write a note to their adopter(s) which will be provided to you via email.

Suggested gift card value per family member is $30. We also recommend a grocery gift card with a value of $25 per family member.
