My name is Claudia Franco and I am one of a four member Program Support team here at MOMS Orange County. I greet classroom attendees, answer the phone, provide general support for our education and home visitation program, handle in-kind donation intake, call clients to remind them about upcoming class appointments, and am generally the first person anyone sees when they walk into the doors of our facility. Needless to say, my job is multifaceted, and requires me to utilize many different skills.
My journey with MOMS Orange County started a few years ago when I was a client. I heard of the programs through a friend, and enrolled in the childbirth preparation classes. At the time, I was pregnant with my son, Aldo. Once I had enrolled, I quickly realized how many amazing services MOMS Orange County provides their clients, and soon after I also enrolled in the home visitation program. The support I received from the staff was fantastic. Juan Diego, Martha, and Gaby, our education team, all were extremely knowledgeable, and helped remind me to be proud of who I was as a mother. My home visitor, Mimi, was also extremely knowledgeable and compassionate, and helped provide a referral to the proper services I needed when I had postpartum depression.
I originally started as an Enrollment Coordinator and helped spread the word of our services at WIC offices and OB clinics, but soon realized that my son Aldo needed me at home. After spending a year with him, I felt that I was ready to re-enter the workforce, and was thrilled to be able to return to MOMS Orange County and accept a new position. The staff here works tirelessly to ensure they provide a top-notch program for their clients. Aldo is now 2 years old, and extremely social. I credit a large part of his successful development to the classes and support I received here at MOMS Orange County. I know that the knowledge I gained and the support I received made me a better mother, and helped Aldo reach his developmental milestones when he was an infant.
I look forward to meeting and speaking with many more clients, volunteers, and community members in the future, and truly feel honored to be part of such an outstanding organization.
