MOMS Orange County is excited to have Dr. Eric G. Walsh as keynote speaker at its Healthy Beginnings, Bright Futures Luncheon & Awards Presentation on Friday, May 7, 2010.
In addition to being an active member of MOMS Orange County’s Board of Directors, Dr. Walsh serves as the Medical Director of the Family Health Division, Public Health Services for the County of Orange Health Care Agency. He also recently served as the Interim Medical Director for Correctional Medical Services. One aspect of his role was to provide oversight for the medical services provided to children who reside in the County’s six residential juvenile facilities. Previously, Dr. Walsh also served as Medical Director of Urgent Care at the Loma Linda Family Medicine Group and provided clinical care to patients in a variety of settings.
Dr. Walsh is also a sought after speaker and leader, especially as it pertains to pubic health and health care. He is currently a Lecturer in the Graduate Program of Public Health at University of California – Irvine. In a wider scope of service, Dr. Walsh currently sits on the President’s Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA) for the current White House administration and is also an Executive Board Member of MOMS Orange County and the Latino Health Collaborative which serves communities in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. Dr. Walsh holds an MD from the University of Miami’s School of Medicine and a Masters of Public Health from Loma Linda University School of Public Health. He is currently completing his Doctorate of Public Health from Loma Linda University, School of Public Health. Dr. Walsh also enjoys working with youth to build stronger spiritual awareness, leadership, community responsibility and educational success.
